Get four free songs from The Money Pit
From the ashes of Gatsby’s American Dream rises The Money Pit, an exciting new project from Nic Newsham and Bobby Darling.
In a press release today, the duo announced that their self-titled record would arrive September 4. The album was produced by the one and only Casey Bates. [1]
“I think it was important to step away from what we were doing in Gatsby’s and gain some earned perspective,” notes Newsham, “This record is vital, it’s alive, it’s dangerous. It’s everything that we turned to music for in the first place.” Darling adds, “It’s refreshing coming to the process with no pretense, without this voice in the back of your head, fucking with you all the time about how people might receive your music. ‘Is this cool?’ It’s like, ‘Fuck no, you’re not cool, you never were, and nobody else is either. But you can be true, and there’s value in that.’”
You can grab four songs from the record for free on the band’s website now. I’ve listened through the record’s entirety twice. Glorious—just glorious.
