This week, Cultured Code is giving their Things app away for free as the featured App of the Week on the App Store.

As a special gift for Thanksgiving, Apple has chosen Things for iPhone and iPad as their Free App of the Week—a worldwide promotion that makes both apps free for everyone, for the first time ever. This is a fantastic opportunity to get your hands on these award-winning productivity apps.
Having won an Apple Design Award, Macworld Best Of Show, and many equally impressive accolades, I am not a Things user. I don’t have much of a need for to-do lists at the moment. In the past, I’ve used Wanderlist, Evernote, and the iOS-supplied Reminders app to do the sort of things Things does. I did, however download the app today. Then I deleted it..
It’s this thing I do. I’ve downloaded a dozen-or-so apps this year from the coveted App of the Week slot on the App Store home screen. Games, productivity apps, photography companions, you name it. Very few of these do I use, but when it’s free, it’s free.
In my mind, clicking “get” on featured apps means that I have that app for free whenever I need it. Even if I end up removing it from my devices straight away, it’s there, in the cloud, ready at my whim.
I downloaded Things today. It comes recommended by Jason Tate at Chorus.fm as well as a few others, but I have no need for it at the moment. Maybe soon I will. Maybe if I do, I’ll go to another option like Todoist (praised by MacStories’ Federico Viticci). I suppose I’ll have options.
The promotion runs from November 20-28. Grab it on the App Store.
